Dear Ray, somehow I found your website. And that was something! As a german admirer for cook knives, I'm deeply impressed about your wonderfull works. There are a few guys over here in Germany doing similar things, but I never saw such a quantity of beautiful knives from one producer - incredible! they fit my taste my astetics completely. That's what i call a real good and beauty cooks knive. And I can tell you from my heart and my knowledge on knives: you should be proud of your work (and I guess you already are).I would like to see some knives with 3layers on aogami - that would be my best choice for cooking knives.Happy chrismas or whatever might do you good these days.HansPeter/Frankfurt-Germany

Hey Ray, I finally found your website again; I signed yourguest book in 2004. You are a gem to behold. How many craftsmen share their skills with novice's? I'm right in themiddle of my first linerlock folder. You have given me theconfidence to attempt it. I have put together several knifekits (mass produced, semi finished). After the first one, Ialtered the final shape a bit, but it's still a kit knife. Thanks again for being a great human being. We could use afew more!

I like your site. You make some nice knives. Especially the folders. I like the throwing knife, although not for throwing. It reminds me of the green river scalping knives of days gone by and looks to be a practical camp knife. No frills just the basics of a good knife without the cumbersome guard. Mack

Found your site while digging up information on knifemaking. Absolutely fantastic. Your site has already cleared up a lot of "how's this done" questions! And reinforcing some things I've already learned (the hard way, of course) I will be refering to your site quite often so I don't have to learn to much more the "hard way"Thanks for all the info! -Kelly

Hey Ray! I've just spent a few hours of the last couple of days going through your site and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Very Nice. I live in a somewhat rural area but not nearly so as yours. I got to your site after reading Wayne Goddard's $50 Knife Shop book and doing some searching for kits and ways to get started. You have a way with words and a gift for teaching and I (and a whole lot of others) appreciate it very much! I really just wanted to express that, I wish I could afford to order one of your awesome knives and express it that way but... oh well, maybe later!Thank You so very much ! ! !

I just finished spending 2-1/2 hours on your website and I just wanted to say "thanks" for sharing so much with us. Your location, cabin, shop, etc., are what my dreams are made of! How wonderful it must be to live in a place where your worries include keeping the bears out of your shop! To quote the title of an old country song "Joe Sure Knows How to Live", I think a similar song replacing "Joe" with "Ray" would certainly be appropriate! I am in the "baby" stages of learning to make knives and I hope I can someday achieve at least a portion of your skill working with steel, and not to mention, finding a location such as yours to do my work!

I enjoyed the tutorial of your folder using a nickle to lay it out. I am waiting to order a Grizzly grinder and get back into making custom knives. I made three small knives about ten years ago and started on a large bowie the hard way using files, sandpaper, and a bench grinder. My intrest was rekindled when I saw Grizzly had a grinder for $395.00. I am looking forward to getting back into making custom knives, and would appreciate any advice you could offer. Thanks.

Hi Ray, Fantastic site buddy..In this day and age of mass produced crap from china it's very heartening to see that such an artistic craft is still alive. The first time I saw the Rayzor Mark II series in Michael Janich's review I fell in love. I know I'm not the only one. Then I saw the original series of Rayzors and fell in love again. The straight lines struck me slightly harder than the curves of the Mark II. Ray Rogers is truly an artist.

Mr. Rogers, not only do you appear to be a very skilled man in actual life, but your website is great as well! The tutorial is a very nice explanation on how knifemakers do all the nifty objects people like myself buy from them, and the tour of Wauconda with all its furry inhabitants is really uplifting! You've got to love the "skwirls" and the bears. The life you're living looks very unsual and energizing, good for you! Thanks for putting up this nice website, and keep up crafting theses blades! ;-)

Those shipping containers make nice work shops and can be secured well. They would get pretty hot in this part of the country though.Take care.Ron Foster

Hello Ray, Thanks for responding to my question about anvils in the forum. I am really excited to see your site, and especially that you make kitchen knives, and super nice ones to boot! I have worked as a professional chef, and spend most of my time creating sculpture these days, and am reving-up to making my own knives and tools. I suppose that most of what I have to express here is the excitement in seeing other makers doing unique cutlery for the kitchen....that seems to be the place I use the knife most, so that is where I will begin in creating knives, both for myself and hopefully for others too. Thanks Sincerely, Don Carlos Andrade
