Vegetable Cleaver Style 7124

A cleaver especially for vegetables. The O1 tool steel blade is 8 1/2 inches long, 2 inches high, and zone tempered (hard edge and soft back) at Rockwell 59. The 400 year old oak handle is 5" long for balance.

The O1 tool steel blade is 8 1/2 inches long, 2 inches high, and zone tempered (hard edge and soft back) at Rockwell 60 at the edge and about 51 in the middle and back. The stub tang type hickory handle is 5" long and sits behind an aluminum ferrule.

Again, the O1 tool steel blade is 8 1/2 inches long, 2 inches high, and zone tempered (hard edge and soft back) at Rockwell 60 at the edge and about 51 in the middle and back. The handle is some unknown wood from a sideways growing tree in my backyard. I have no idea what it is but after stabilizing the wood it seem hard enough to use for this purpose.
